DeFi Analytics 5th June 2025

This week's edition of our Crypto DeFi Analytics. Ethereum continues to lead Solana in daily fee generation and Beacon Chain validator exits have slowed down.

Chain Fee Generation

Daily Fees Generated across Ethereum & Solana - Ethereum has continued its winning streak, a reflection of increased network usage, outperforming Solana in daily fee generation. It continues the trend of being a stronger contender in daily gas fee generation compared to Solana since its rally and the Pectra network upgrade last month, which saw Ethereum come back into the spotlight.

Although not as high as this time last month, the last few days have seen Ethereum generate over $1.5M in fees, compared to Solana’s daily fees, which ranged between $1M and $1.3M.

Ethereum Gas Market

ETH Gas Fees - Network demand as reflected by hourly average gas fees burned per block remains stable but shows a reduction with this weeks peak at 0.2ETH, half the figures seen last month.

Beacon Chain Balance

Beacon Chain - The Beacon Chain balance fluctuations continue, this week ending on a high. Deposits overall outweighed withdrawals pushing the figure to back over 34.6ETH as ETH’s spot price remains stable this week.

Beacon Chain Summary

Beacon Chain Balance

Beacon Chain - The pace of validator exits has slowed dramatically (Exited Unslashed, Active Exiting) and has been met with a modest increase in validators entering the activation queue (Pending Initialized).

Despite the reduced rate of new exits, a significant number of validators remain in the final stage of the process, still awaiting the withdrawal of their staked ETH (Withdrawal Possible). This aligns with the recent growth of the  Beacon Chain balance.
