Crypto Risk Appetite Report 22nd January 2026

This week's edition of our Market Sentiment Report.

Risk Appetite Index

BLOCK SCHOLES BTC RISK APPETITE INDEX – Despite the most recent pullback in spot price, our risk-appetite metric for BTC has crossed the -0.5 threshold. That threshold has historically marked a positive turnaround in market behaviour.

BLOCK SCHOLES ETH RISK APPETITE INDEX – Our risk-appetite metric for ETH crossed -0.5 earlier than it did for BTC, and currently shows a higher value than BTC. So, far however, ETH returns are underperforming relative to the historical median of a -0.5 crossing.

BLOCK SCHOLES SOL RISK APPETITE INDEX

BLOCK SCHOLES XRP RISK APPETITE INDEX – XRP is so far lagging behind the major blue-chip altcoins, though is showing a similar upward trajectory towards -0.5.
