Altcoins Outperformance vs BTC

Altcoins Outperformance – Over the past week, SOL, ETH and XRP ended up weaker against BTC. They briefly outperformed mid-week, but that move reversed, and all three finished the week behind BTC. ETH saw the largest one-day drop versus BTC on Monday. SOL also weakened over the week. XRP held up better initially, but also fell back versus BTC towards the end of the week. During the sharp weekend sell-off, the chart shows broad underperformance versus BTC, indicating that BTC declined less than the majors over that period.

ETF Flows: BTC, ETH & Altcoins

ETF Flows – Over the past week, flows were notably negative alongside the broader market sell-off, led by ETH, which recorded the largest single-day outflow of the week at −$252.87M. BTC also had several outflow days, including -$817.87M on 29 Jan. Across altcoin ETFs, flows were more mixed: XRP saw a clear outflow spike at the end of last week, while SOL was broadly flat overall but with several noticeable day-to-day moves. LTC and DOGE remained close to zero throughout the week. Notably, the AVAX spot ETF launched last week and has already attracted demand, posting $1.24M of inflows on 28 Jan. Friday's flows across altcoins sum to roughly -$247M, which is about 1.8% of their combined cumulative net inflows of around $14.0B.
